This week, the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education released the Leading Indicators report, a document that encourages leaders across the state to forge a path to promote personal well-being, community resilience, and state economic security.
Leading Indicators is a new resource produced by the Georgia Partnership, in collaboration with the partners that comprise the EdQuest Georgia Coalition. As a companion to the EdQuest Framework and State Policy Plan, Leading Indicators creates a well-rounded toolkit that identifies research-based strategies, policy recommendations, and data measures that will propel the state toward the North Star – ensuring that 65% of Georgians aged 25 to 64 have earned a post-secondary credential with workforce value by the end of 2033.
The report highlights current and potential leading indicators across the three sections of the Birth-to-Work continuum: early learning, K-12 education, and post-secondary education and workforce development. The report also profiles indicators that could improve teacher readiness and job satisfaction, as well as address the community, health, and environmental factors that affect student success and well-being.
As the Georgia Partnership presents the report to key leaders, the team will explore ways to develop measures that bring the proposed leading indicators to life. Also, between now and the summer, the Georgia Partnership will add current indicators to the website to show what the state’s present data capacity looks like.
