Today, the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education (Georgia Partnership) released two new resources to help inform stakeholders on education policy across Georgia.
First, we released Leading Indicators, a report developed in conjunction with the EdQuest Georgia Coalition. The document complements two existing EdQuest Georgia resources: the research-based Framework , and the State Plan, both of which were released in 2023.
Together, these three resources provide the basis for state policymakers, civic leaders, and the corporate sector to reach the North Star – ensuring 65% of adult Georgians have earned a post-secondary credential of value by 2033.
Leading indicators are measures that help education, community, and civic leaders assess the quality, effectiveness, and impact of their investments. In the report, the Georgia Partnership identifies a series of leading indicators that we believe supports the state’s pursuit of the North Star.
The report presents current and proposed indicators across five profiles. “The Leading Indicators report brings research and data to the forefront,” said Dr. Dana Rickman, the president and chief executive officer of the Georgia Partnership. “Creating new leading indicators should enable state and local leaders to more effectively evaluate their strategies and investments. We are hopeful that by aiming to inform, engage, and mobilize stakeholders around the leading indicators, more residents will be able to participate in the state’s economic prosperity.”
Second, as the Georgia Partnership and EdQuest Coalition members advocate for the priorities outlined in the EdQuest Framework, State Plan, and Leading Indicators report, we have created a new online space to share policy resources. Called Partnership on Policy, the space will feature multimedia resources, including quick-hitting blog posts, condensed policy summaries, community spotlights, and podcasts.
EdQuest Georgia is a 10-year initiative founded on the premise that expanding access to education and economic opportunity promotes personal well-being, community resilience, and state economic security. Working with the EdQuest Georgia Coalition, a group of state agency and nonprofit, business, and civic leaders, the Georgia Partnership has championed a model in which communities drive innovation and state leaders support the spread and scale of effective local strategies.
