June 1, 2023 (Original Press Release)

The ATL Airport Chamber is excited to announce our new partnership with the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education (GPEE). Recently we got to speak with Partnership representatives, Dr. Robert Gaines and Breanne West, to discuss our shared goal of fostering collaboration between education and business communities.

TAAC, known for its focus on education and entrepreneurship training, has found a valuable ally in GPEE, an organization that brings together leaders from education, business, and civic sectors to develop strategies for workforce development. With this partnership, both organizations aim to bridge the gap between these sectors and promote the active involvement of business leaders in shaping education policies.

The ATL Airport Chamber and GPEE share a common vision of creating an environment where businesses and educational institutions can collaborate effectively. By leveraging their extensive networks, these organizations strive to connect leaders, decision-makers, and stakeholders from various sectors, enabling fruitful conversations and impactful outcomes. Their combined efforts are not only limited to traditional education settings but also extend to entrepreneurship programs and initiatives that empower individuals at all career levels.

One of the key goals of the partnership is to demonstrate to business leaders that the business community’s involvement in education is essential and highly valued. Many business leaders express a desire to contribute to education-related discussions but often lack a clear entry point for their participation. The ATL Airport Chamber and GPEE aim to address this by providing a platform where businesses can engage with educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders. By facilitating these connections, the organizations empower business leaders to influence education policies and ensure that students are adequately prepared for the workforce.

Both the ATL Airport Chamber and GPEE emphasize the significance of collective effort and collaboration in achieving their mission. They understand that numerous organizations and individuals possess valuable assets and resources within their communities. By leveraging these collective efforts, they can maximize the impact of their work and address community needs more effectively. The partnership between the ATL Airport Chamber and GPEE opens doors to broader networks, enabling them to share research, information, and resources with audiences who may not have had access otherwise. This collaboration creates a unique opportunity to bridge gaps and foster collaboration between education and business communities.

If you or someone you know is interested in shaping education policy, GPEE is currently accepting applications for their Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP), which begins in August and runs through May of 2024.

EPFP is an intensive professional development experience designed to equip emerging leaders across various sectors with the necessary knowledge and networks to be effective change agents in education policy.

More information about the program, including critical dates for the next class and the application, please visit GPEE.org. Application deadline is June 16.
